(This is kindâve based off of spooky stories Iâve been listening to lately, and I thought something akin to this would exist in this world, so I thought itâd be interesting to write Frisk encountering these creatures / spirits.)
The trek through the woods hadnât been anything out of the ordinary, with Frisk keeping their lantern dim and stepping carefully through the snow, trying to be as quiet as possible. The forest did seem a little too quiet today, the little human hadnât heard any monsters stirring about or growling, nor had there been anything climbing through the trees above them. Though many would have taken this as a good sign, Frisk knew they werenât very fortunate in situations like this. Silence could also mean that something was trying to sneak up on them, and not make a sound to alert the small, paranoid human...
So when they heard a voice, instantly they knew something something was wrong.

Frisk gasped and froze the moment this whisper passed through the trees, the childâs head snapping in the direction they though it had come from. It wounded like the voice of a young girl, but the monotone quality of the voice sent chills down Friskâs spine. This was a spirit of some kind, any human child would have been panicking and shrieking in a place like this. The fact that this spirit was mimicking a child though, didnât bode well at all.

Refusing to follow the tempting spirits instructions, Frisk stiffened and slowly started to back away from the voice, keeping their lantern up and their expression in a firm frown. That was, until they head soft giggling from right behind them. Yelping out of fright Frisk instantly whirls around and scrambles away at the sight that greets them, fear spiking through them like ice at the sight of two children, finely dressed in clean clothes, staring at them with pitch black eyes.
The children giggled once more, their grins stretching wider than a normal humanâs mouth should, as they said once more in their whispery voices,
